And
Nick has been adding Thematic Events to the WCCF Email
Chess. As you might have seen on the main WCCF page,
you can create your own Thematic Events. Play your
favorite opening in an Event against other WCCF
members. It's educational....and fun!
Help
- Translators Needed
WCCF is looking for volunteers to translate the WCCF website
into other lanugages. Please Email
Nick
if you would be able to help
translate the WCCF website into your native language.
Help
- PERL Programmer Needed
WCCF is looking for an experienced PERL programmer to help
automate our databases. This would involve linking the
Results and Ratings databases to the Tables database so that
entering a result into the Tables database will
automatically update the Results and Ratings
databases. Please Email
Nick
if you are able to help.
Waiting
Lists: Event waiting lists
can now be seen on the Tables page for the respective
events. Click on the 'Tables' drop-down menu at the
top of any page on the website and then click on the Event type
you are interested in seeing. Note: Waiting
Lists for Swiss Events can be seen on the Swiss
Events page found on the 'Info' menu at the top
of any page. Note:
WCCF Swiss Events will now be
rated like other standard WCCF Events.

Member Forum This
section of the WCCF Newsletter is a place
for member articles, editorials, rants, raves...
anything you would like to share with the
membership. You may respond to something
you read in the newsletter or submit your own
topic. Send anything you would like
included in this section to the Newsletter
Editor.
The Meeting Place is a list of fellow WCCF Members, their country
and interests. The idea is for this to be
a place to find fellow chess enthusiasts who
maybe share some of your other interests.
Or find someone from a country that interests
you, or maybe someone from your own city that
would like to have an over the board game with
you. Or you might meet someone you would
like to request a match with right here on WCCF.
Whatever the reason, this will hopefully put a
personal touch on our chess community. You
can chat via email, on WCCF
Chat, or on the WCCF Message Board. If
you would like to participate, please fill out
the form below and click submit. I will
add your name as soon as possible. There
are no required fields - fill in only
information you would like to share.

Checkmate
Well,
that's all for this month. There is a topic on the
WCCF Message Board for you to post your comments
and suggestions about anything relating to
chess or to our club.
And remember, I am always in the market for contributions to the
Newsletter... games, problems, links, humor, articles, editorials, rants,
raves... anything you would like to share.
